Join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Operational Data Services Centre (ODSC)! ODSC provides data visualization, data analysis, data science, and data governance. The RCMP is interested in recruiting Data Scientists to advance the RCMP's analytics and operational reporting. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with the RCMP's police operational data to advance technical modernizations and analytical projects within the RCMP. The RCMP promotes employment equity and is committed to building a skilled and diverse workforce that reflects the Canadians we serve.

Interested candidates are required to have at least one degree related to economics, sociology, statistics or computer/data science by spring 2025. The target audience is students graduating in an undergraduate or graduate program of Computer Science; Data Science; Data Science, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence. Interested students who are in the process of completing their degree are welcome to attend for networking purposes. Start dates are flexible, but are dependent on receiving a RCMP security clearance, which may take a few months, making the likely start date fall 2025.

If you have graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution in economics, sociology or statistics and have a specialization in computer/data science; have experience using programming as Python, R, or SQL to query, cleanse, organize and analyze large data sets or to conduct complex quantitative analysis; and have experience in supporting data science and data analytic projects, we would like to meet you! Hiring managers will be present at this session to answer questions and discuss the available positions. Resumes of interested candidates will be accepted

Details of employment: Various linguistic profiles and tenures available. Employees must be willing to work in office at National Headquarters, located at 73 Leikin Drive in Barrhaven. The salary range of the position is $82,218-$95,148. Successful applicants will undergo an employment interview process and reference checks (academic references may be used, where appropriate).

Conditions of employment: Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or be a Permanent Resident. Due to the nature of the work in the RCMP, all successful applicants must undergo a thorough security clearance process, which includes a security interview wherein questions may include, but are not limited to, background and reference checks, previous employments, criminal activities, online activities, credit checks, alcohol and drug use, and fingerprints.
