Thinking about graduate school or professional programs? Getting ready to apply? Not sure where to start? Career Services is here to help! This virtual session is open to both current students and alumni regardless of your career goals and where you are at in the exploration or application process.
During this workshop, you will learn about:
- Things to consider before applying to graduate school or professional programs
- How to research/compare schools and requirements
- What questions should you be asking during school information sessions and open houses
- Key timelines for applying (hint: it's earlier than people think!)
- How to decide which offer to accept when there are multiple offers
- How Career Services can help you with the consideration of graduate schools or professional programs
How to Attend
Register on this mySuccess event post. On September 17, those who register for this session will be sent a Zoom link 2 hours before the start of the workshop. The link will only allow one sign-in attempt per device.

What to Expect
This workshop will consist of PowerPoint slides (visible via a shared screen), interactive polls, discussion questions, and electronic fillable handouts that will be shared via the Zoom chat feature.
How to Prepare and Additional Recommendations
- You do not have to have a formalized career goal to attend.
- Ensure your Zoom account is up to date, your electronic device is charged, and your internet connection is reliable.
- In addition to the Part 1 workshop, consider registering for Applying to Graduate and Professional Studies Workshop - Part 2: Application Documents, taking place via Zoom on October 1. This session will cover writing a high-quality personal statement, the differences between a CV and a resume (and when to use either one appropriately), and securing the right professional and academic references. Please note that you can attend one or both sessions depending on your needs and schedule.
