What you will get out of it: Learn about working at the Canadian Armed Forces, the jobs they are recruiting for, and their subsidized university education programs.

Stop by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) recruitment information booth to learn about exploring a career in the Canadian Armed Forces. The CAF is more than a job, it's a meaningful opportunity that offers teamwork and support, personal and professional growth, leadership training, technical skill development, and impactful work and adventure.

They will be highlighting their paid education programs, which cover up to 100% of your education and guarantees a job in your field with the CAF after you graduate. These programs are available to all bachelor degree programs at Carleton University, including students who have completed up to 50% of their degree. To be eligible, students must be either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

The CAF is currently hiring for 100+ different jobs, many of which fall into the fields of social sciences and humanities, engineering, science, and healthcare. Some examples of occupations they are hiring for include: Nursing Officer, Logistics Officer, Aerospace Engineering Officer, Construction Engineering Officer, Public Affairs Officer, and Military Police Officer.

What to Expect

Students have the opportunity to drop by the booth to speak with representatives from the Canadian Armed Forces to learn more about employment opportunities available and their subsidized university education programs. 

  • Networking opportunities and initiating conversation with representatives
  • Listening to representatives either one-on-one or in a group setting
  • High-traffic venue
  • Exposure to constant verbal noise

How to Prepare

  • Visit the Canadian Armed Forces website to familiarize yourself with their opportunities available.
  • Get your resume updated! Consider visiting Career Services (401 Tory Building) for a review of your resume; drop-in hours are Monday-Friday 1-4pm.
  • Come prepared with questions for the representatives.
  • Allocate time in your schedule to attend the event. Make sure to prioritize this opportunity to gather valuable information and insights.
