Roles:

The Wireless Telecom Switch / Data Center Technician within Field Service Organization in Canada is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of core network and data center infrastructure supporting LTE and 5G wireless networks. This role supports switching systems, IP routers, transport equipment, servers, and power systems in telecom core facilities. The technician ensures high availability, network reliability, and compliance with Canadian safety and operational standards. The Candidate must be flexible to work in an On Call schedule as needed. 

As an Ericsson Field Technician within Field Service Organization in Canada your job is to work on Radio Sites in Canada for Rogers mobile networks and perform Corrective Interventions and Preventive tasks. The Wireless Telecom Field Technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless network equipment including LTE and 5G systems. The role supports RAN infrastructure, ensures network performance, and maintains compliance with Canadian safety and regulatory standards. The technician works on cell sites, rooftops, towers, and data centers, supporting mobile network operators and equipment vendors. Knowledge of typical configuration and installation best practices across multiple BTS types of Ericsson, and Ericsson Microwave equipment is required. Experienced in AC/DC power and battery systems, transmission equipment (microwave links, Ethernet Backhaul, fiber equipment and other typical configurations) and installation of wireless radio site equipment and troubleshooting methodology is a mandatory requirement for the job. The Candidate must be flexible to work in an On Call schedule as needed.

The Wireless Telecom Network Technician (Hybrid) within Field Service Organization in Canada is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both wireless RAN infrastructure and core/data center network systems supporting LTE and 5G networks. This role bridges field operations and core network support, ensuring end-to-end service availability from cell site to core network. The technician works across: Cell sites (macro, rooftop, small cells), central offices and switching centers, data centers hosting EPC and 5G Core platforms. The Candidate must be flexible to work in an On Call schedule as needed.

What to Expect

How to Prepare

  • Have a personal laptop or desktop ready so you can participate in the session. 
  • Make sure you have Microsoft Teams downloaded ahead of time and check for any updates before the session starts. 
  • Test your camera and microphone ahead of time. We highly encourage participants to have their cameras on.
  • Plan your video call background. It is recommended taking the call within a professional looking space or blurring the background if not possible. 
  • Get your resume updated! Consider visiting Career Services (401 Tory Building) for a review of your resume; drop-in hours are Monday-Friday 1-4pm.
